Injury prevention through Passive Stretching on the Couch
This course, can be taken as a class in its own right or as part of your ongoing injury prevention programme. These techniques are a key factor in reducing the risk of repetitive strain injury to the therapist. For the clients, stretching is extremely important in injury prevention as well as rehabilitation and recovery. As a practitioner I have found stretching clients on the couch an invaluable part of their
therapy. Too often stretching is left out or rushed through in both classroom and in
practice. Stretching is a crucial ingredient in the maintenance of healthy muscles and Stretching will optimise muscle and tendon range of motion and facilitate the removal of metabolic waste products. Improved oxygenation eliminates carbon dioxide formation and improved circulation eliminates lactic acid build up. It reduces the risk of injury as well as enhancing athletic performance and also reduces postural tightening due to ageing. All clients young and old not only benefit from but enjoy being stretched.
